There are activities on my Life List I expect will be rewarding — doing something scary, traveling, volunteering for baby-saving activities, that kind of thing.

Your post reminds me of a fabulous little book I read a while back called “Wear More Cashmere” – about finding and enjoying the small, sensual things that make life that much more pleasant. Love your way of doing it!
I also LOVE your phrase “as my body tumbles, against my will, toward denoument.” That will have to be my new way of putting it! Far better than my old stand-by, “blame age and decrepitude”.
