This whole 100 bathtubs goal is moving way too slow. 2017! The year of 92 new bathtubs.

Spiced Pumpkin Rum Toddy
You’re warm, you’re cozy, you need to stand up more slowly from your chair. You can’t really tell these have booze in them, so pace yourself.
• Good Earth Original Sweet and Spicy Tea
• Kraken Rum
• Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage
Brew a half-mug of tea, add a shot of rum, top off with Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage. It’s not an exact science but you can’t really go wrong here.
Here’s to the smell of dirt under the leaves you waited too long to rake, oversize cable-knit sweaters with sleeves you can pull your hands up inside, rain beads on the window.
This is my 20th cocktail toward my Life List goal to create 100 cocktails. A fifth of the way there baby.
Green Emerald Beauty Plum
Green Emerald Plums are so Wizard of Oz.
Taste 1,00 Fruits is on my Life List. I’ve tasted more than 100 so far, and if you’re a fruit person too you can see more of them over at Go Mighty.
Summer Punch Plums
I have a new favorite plum. Sound the trumpets!
Summer Punch Plums are incredible, and so sparkly pink boot. Someone craft an artisanal cocktail immediately.
Taste 1,00 Fruits is on my Life List. I’ve tasted more than 100 so far, and if you’re a fruit person too you can see more of them over at Go Mighty.
Golden Kiwi
Golden Kiwis are chiller than regular kiwis.

Jazz Age Lawn Party
Taste 1,000 Fruits: Gold Nugget Mandarins
I added Gold Nugget Mandarins to my list of fruits over at Go Mighty.
I love it when I can upgrade a fruit I eat on the regular with one that has a similar flavor profile, but tastes much better. Farewell tangerines, hello Gold Nugget Mandarins.
Set Foot in All Fifty States: Minnesota
When she was little, my mom met a man who said he’d “set foot in all fifty states,” and she was amazed by the idea. Since she told me, I thought how much I’d like to do the same.
I’m starting with Minnesota over at Go Mighty. I found this trophy in an antique store outside Minneapolis, and it still cracks me up.
My Life List Proceeds Apace
I’m looking for ten solid recipes to go in each section of my recipe tin. I’m particularly light on veggies (because I tend to just steam and serve), pork, beef, and appetizers.
Some simple, fun things I’ve was doing on Go Mighty when I wasn’t here:
My little fire escape garden is so life affirming.
I’ve added five bathtubs to my 100 bathtubs goal.
Mulberries, I have decided, are not very delicious. I’ve tasted around 110 of my 1,000 fruits, but have yet to move them all over to Go Mighty. Trust.
Peppers are pretty in a bouquet, and they sort of look like fingers. That makes 16 out of 100 bouquets.
I’ve made 19 of my 100 cocktails. So I’m probably drunk right now.
Love,
Maggie

Do you have summer resolutions? My list for this year:
• Leave the country.
A couple weeks ago, Brad and I used airline miles to fly to Mexico. It was the most nothing I’ve ever done.
• Go on a road trip with Hank.
We’re driving home from a wedding in Seattle right now, where the bride and groom played live Chilean Cumbia, and half the wedding toasts were in Spanish. I’m typing this from a hotel room at dawn, with the boys sleep-breathing on either side of me.
• Eat a popsicle outside.
Pop Nation makes flavors like Sea Salted Dark Chocolate, Bourbon Peach, and Mango Chili Lime. I always have one at the Alameda Flea Market, and this month I had two.
• Portland
We have another wedding here. It’s one of my favorite cities.
• Robot Dance Party
Robot Dance Party! I’ve been cocooning lately, and there are too many faces I haven’t kissed. Cool, metallic robot faces.
• Street fireworks on Independence Day.
Sparklers, and Piccolo Petes, and ground flowers, and cone fountains, and watermelon.
• Feet in the river.
Sandwich in my hands.
(My last year’s summer manifesto is here, and these will be up on Go Mighty soon. If you put yours up, tag them #gosummer. I like to see what you’re up to.)
