Giveaway: Mighty Summit Gift Bag

When we were pulling together gifts for the Mighty Summit, we set a few aside to give away. There will be Summit giveaways on Mighty Girl all this week, but this first one is a doozy. Here’s what’s up for grabs today:

Tieks by Gavrieli

I bought a pair of these perfect ultimate travel shoes a while back, and they’re one of my new favorite things. Tieks fold in half so you can stuff them in your purse, but the quality is amazing. They come in all sorts of candy colors and metallics — plus they pack flat and slip off easily when you’re heading through airport security. The winner gets to choose any pair for $135 and under. I recommend orange.

Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer Strap

I can’t believe how long it took me to replace my ugly, logoed camera strap. Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer strap really dresses up your camera, and even has a little pocket for extra memory cards or a lens cloth.

Lola Epiphanie Camera Bag by Maile Wilson

Maile was an attendee at this year’s Summit, and she brought along her bright Epiphanie camera bags. I use mine as my everyday purse and have finally stopped busting expensive lenses and gadgets by wrapping them in hand towels and shoving them into an un-padded purse. Now I can have my SLR, my flip, and my phone(s) with me without anything banging together and cracking or getting scratched by my keys.

And that’s it for today. Pretty good, huh? To enter to win, please leave a comment about something on your Life List.

Now for the fine print: Please only leave one comment, because it’s the nice thing to do, and also because multiple entries will be disqualified. I’ll use random.org to select the winner, and I’ll announce who won at the top of this post and in a separate post next Tuesday.

  1. Stand up for myself or something I care about, on the spot. Concisely and gracefully, without being weird. I’m not very good when i’m put on the spot, but I will improve!

  2. One of the first things I crossed off my Life List (only a few months ago) was going to a drive in movie. This was all inspired b/c there was a drive in in my town that we would always see and then it closed right after we moved there. This was 20 years ago.

I JUST found out yesterday that this drive in that has inspired so much longing for 20 years showed exclusively porn. PORN has been fueling my Life List this whole time and I had no idea. Clearly it worked though.

  3. One of the items on my list, is to go on a storm-chasing tour. I just discovered that not only do these exist, but they have ones that are specifically for photographers. Saving up right now–can’t wait!!

  4. The first dog I ever had died a year ago this past Sunday. A couple of months ago my new dog found me. He’s only about 18 months old and 16 inches long but he’s turned up to 11, 12 if he’s well rested. I’ve been struggling. Struggling with the loss, struggling with the gain, struggling with having a new dog around, struggling with how smart he is and how dumb I feel when I can’t keep ahead of him (8 times out of 10, guaranteed). A few days ago, though, I hit on a way to help. I’m going to put “Train a dog to be a Canine Good Citizen or Delta Dog (hopefully Eddie)” on my life list. I think the extra motivation of the life listing community and how much I like to accomplish things on the list are going to help me enjoy the journey and see the process of training and trusting and loving this new dog in a kinder light. Kinder to him but kinder to myself, too.

Thanks for the life list community. On this, as in so many other things, I really needed it.

  5. Take my dad out of the country. He has never been and traveling has always been my favorite thing. I want to share that with him. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  6. I’d like to own a tiny storefront where I sold my handmade photo greeting cards, candles, soaps, jewelry and muffins, and a few stellar thrift store finds. I would keep a pot full of tea brewing, and customers would be free to linger and chat in the super-comfy seating areas.

  8. I’m recording family voices … Grandma talking about quilting, the kids talking about video games, the uncles about football, etc… Anything ordinary.

  9. One of the items on my life list is to sleep in a castle. I think it has a strong possibility of coming true this next spring. We’re hiking Hadrian’s Wall, with a side trip to Scotland. As a matter of fact, I’m GOING to make it happen. I know it’ll be a cold place, and not the fairy tale most people imagine… But it’ll be AWESOME nonetheless!

  12. I don’t have a Life List but I’m going to start one and the first thing on it will be ‘MAKE A LIFE LIST’… That way I will have already gotten one thing finished and hopefully will keep the momentum going!

Eat a regional food from every state while in that state (halfway done)
