Giveaway: Mighty Summit Gift Bag

When we were pulling together gifts for the Mighty Summit, we set a few aside to give away. There will be Summit giveaways on Mighty Girl all this week, but this first one is a doozy. Here’s what’s up for grabs today:

Tieks by Gavrieli

I bought a pair of these perfect ultimate travel shoes a while back, and they’re one of my new favorite things. Tieks fold in half so you can stuff them in your purse, but the quality is amazing. They come in all sorts of candy colors and metallics — plus they pack flat and slip off easily when you’re heading through airport security. The winner gets to choose any pair for $135 and under. I recommend orange.

Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer Strap

I can’t believe how long it took me to replace my ugly, logoed camera strap. Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer strap really dresses up your camera, and even has a little pocket for extra memory cards or a lens cloth.

Lola Epiphanie Camera Bag by Maile Wilson

Maile was an attendee at this year’s Summit, and she brought along her bright Epiphanie camera bags. I use mine as my everyday purse and have finally stopped busting expensive lenses and gadgets by wrapping them in hand towels and shoving them into an un-padded purse. Now I can have my SLR, my flip, and my phone(s) with me without anything banging together and cracking or getting scratched by my keys.

And that’s it for today. Pretty good, huh? To enter to win, please leave a comment about something on your Life List.

Now for the fine print: Please only leave one comment, because it’s the nice thing to do, and also because multiple entries will be disqualified. I’ll use random.org to select the winner, and I’ll announce who won at the top of this post and in a separate post next Tuesday.

  1. My life list is a work in progress, but I’d really like to go to Ireland. I studied Irish history – even took Gaelic – and have yet to visit. Someday, though, I will!

  2. Someday when our son is a little older we would like to take a family safari vacation in Africa. To show our son that animals come from this magnificent place not the zoo.

  3. I want to conquer my fear of cooking live lobster. Intellectually I know they are not screaming tiny horrible lobster death screams, but I’m having a hard time getting over it. Lobster at home would be so much more delightful than lobster out, though, that I’m determined to do it.

  4. To be able to randomly walk around and take pictures of what ever I choose with out kids in tow. Oh and they will turn out fabulous.

  5. The last travel destination from my original Got-To-Go list (age 18) is an African Photo Safari. I would love to take incredible photos that would move people to try and save the remaining wild animals that still exist…

  6. I’m planning an overseas trip in February, both to explore the world and to get the heck out of Chicago during what has to be the most depressing month of the year!

  7. I know lots of people say “Go to Paris,” but I was supposed to go in junior high–but couldn’t, I wanted to go in college for study abroad and was too sick. I was supposed to go on my honeymoon, but my (now ex) husband changed his mind because he’d “been before and didn’t want to go again.” (I spent our “honeymoon” in the hospital.) I was going to go with my ex-boyfriend but he wanted to go in the dead of winter and/or only stay three days because “you’d get bored” (who would get bored?)

So NOW I am planning a trip for myself and if my current boyfriend comes along, good for him.

  8. I added something to my list that I never thought I would do — running! I’m doing it now and even though I can only run in tiny little spurts it is AWESOME.

  12. A life list… My least interesting is to learn the functions of my camera better, and the biggest is to retire in Hawaii.

  13. 1 short term goal I have is to get a photo of my 3 kids with our 2 horses and pony! My horse is 26 (I’ve had her since she was 4)and our pony is 19…I need a super nice canvas of the 6 of them above my fireplace:):) (I’m not even going to try to get the dogs in this one! lol)

  14. To bake bread from scratch. Once the radiators are turned on in the apartment (so the bread can rise) I’m setting aside an afternoon for it.

  15. I played a violin recital at my husband’s great-grandmother’s nursing home. She is 94 and sharp as a tack, but I didn’t want to wait until it was too late (like I did with my own grandparents). It was my favorite performance ever! 🙂
