Giveaway: Mighty Summit Gift Bag

When we were pulling together gifts for the Mighty Summit, we set a few aside to give away. There will be Summit giveaways on Mighty Girl all this week, but this first one is a doozy. Here’s what’s up for grabs today:

Tieks by Gavrieli

I bought a pair of these perfect ultimate travel shoes a while back, and they’re one of my new favorite things. Tieks fold in half so you can stuff them in your purse, but the quality is amazing. They come in all sorts of candy colors and metallics — plus they pack flat and slip off easily when you’re heading through airport security. The winner gets to choose any pair for $135 and under. I recommend orange.

Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer Strap

I can’t believe how long it took me to replace my ugly, logoed camera strap. Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer strap really dresses up your camera, and even has a little pocket for extra memory cards or a lens cloth.

Lola Epiphanie Camera Bag by Maile Wilson

Maile was an attendee at this year’s Summit, and she brought along her bright Epiphanie camera bags. I use mine as my everyday purse and have finally stopped busting expensive lenses and gadgets by wrapping them in hand towels and shoving them into an un-padded purse. Now I can have my SLR, my flip, and my phone(s) with me without anything banging together and cracking or getting scratched by my keys.

And that’s it for today. Pretty good, huh? To enter to win, please leave a comment about something on your Life List.

Now for the fine print: Please only leave one comment, because it’s the nice thing to do, and also because multiple entries will be disqualified. I’ll use random.org to select the winner, and I’ll announce who won at the top of this post and in a separate post next Tuesday.

  1. To see the Aurora on a different continent.

    To buy a house

To get a Masters’ – and to figure out what in first!

To make an intimate meal for 6 or 8, with an least 6 courses

To spend an afternoon with kids, preferably my sister’s or mine (the latter yet to be conceived), cloud-gazing, ice-cream-eating and swinging from a tree (perhaps this is three-in-one)

To plant morning glories around the light pole in front of our house

  2. I’d like to run a marathon someday. Considering I only recently completed my first 5-mile run, I’d say it’s a lofty goal.

  3. One of my life list items is to have dinner at Alinea, and I was wondering if I would be the kind of person who takes pictures at a dinner like that. After dinner at Chez Panisse for the first time this year, I think I can safely say I am not, and I’m totally cool with that.

  4. Go to Africa. Ideally South Africa, Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo where my dad was born.

Learn to speak French fluently. You know where I know what they’re saying right then rather than 5 minutes later when my brain finally finishes translating what they’ve said.

  5. I want to learn how to quilt and then make my children their own baby quilts. (I’m currently childless so I still have time.)

  6. I have a gaggle of sisters, spread out all over the world. On my life list, is to have photo sessions of us done at least once every two years so we can document how we change and grow, together.

  7. Buy my first house with my fiance. Whether it be in GA or NY or anywhere else (but in south FL) I’d be happy. I want something we can fix up and make it all ours and has plenty of room for our family with room to spare for any future children! I’m almost 26 and would really like to see this happen before I turn 30…

  8. I have a bunch of running goals on my life list – 5k, 10k, half-marathon, marathon. I’ve beat out the 5k several times over (most recently, and most fun: http://www.ruggedmaniac.com ), and I’ll have the 10k and the half-marathon under my belt in the next (yikes!) week and a half. The marathon… the marathon can wait just a little bit longer.

  9. On my life list is to live in Washington, DC. I’m scared to move away from my city where I have a large group of friends, but DC is so wonderful, how could I not?

  10. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano and the violin (or at least one of those!) When I was in elementary school and everyone had to pick an instrument for band, I had to learn the clarinet because we had access to my dad’s old one. But the piano and violin were what excited me. I’ve already lined up piano lessons to begin in the spring!

  11. One of the items on my life list is to get to each of the 48 contiguous states, and last week I added Maine(!) and New Hampshire to the list. Maine gets an exlamation point cuz I figure it deserves it, what with being one syllable and all. We also crossed New Brunswick, Canada, off while we were at it. Bonus!
