Giveaway: Mighty Summit Gift Bag

When we were pulling together gifts for the Mighty Summit, we set a few aside to give away. There will be Summit giveaways on Mighty Girl all this week, but this first one is a doozy. Here’s what’s up for grabs today:

Tieks by Gavrieli

I bought a pair of these perfect ultimate travel shoes a while back, and they’re one of my new favorite things. Tieks fold in half so you can stuff them in your purse, but the quality is amazing. They come in all sorts of candy colors and metallics — plus they pack flat and slip off easily when you’re heading through airport security. The winner gets to choose any pair for $135 and under. I recommend orange.

Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer Strap

I can’t believe how long it took me to replace my ugly, logoed camera strap. Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer strap really dresses up your camera, and even has a little pocket for extra memory cards or a lens cloth.

Lola Epiphanie Camera Bag by Maile Wilson

Maile was an attendee at this year’s Summit, and she brought along her bright Epiphanie camera bags. I use mine as my everyday purse and have finally stopped busting expensive lenses and gadgets by wrapping them in hand towels and shoving them into an un-padded purse. Now I can have my SLR, my flip, and my phone(s) with me without anything banging together and cracking or getting scratched by my keys.

And that’s it for today. Pretty good, huh? To enter to win, please leave a comment about something on your Life List.

Now for the fine print: Please only leave one comment, because it’s the nice thing to do, and also because multiple entries will be disqualified. I’ll use random.org to select the winner, and I’ll announce who won at the top of this post and in a separate post next Tuesday.

  1. My number one spot on my Life List is thaken up by this:
    1. Visit India for the Holi Festival
There’s something about all the colour and fun and madness that looks unreal.
I look forward to ticking that off my Life List most.

    Thanks!

  2. Taking a break from studying for my general exam (blargh)! I am one step closer to being a competent bike rider. I bought a bike about a month ago and I’ve been riding around town with my husband. Yeah I screamed like a banshee going down the reaaaally steep hill, but we made it to the farmer’s market! Rejoice 🙂

  3. To fly all of my family and friends from Texas here to New Zealand for my wedding. Or to fly all of us to my favorite island off of Malaysia for my honeymoon. How about both.

  4. Had the opportunity at the last minute to complete a goal on my life list (take a knife skills class!), but decided to finish up my homework (grad school’s a pain!) and take care of myself instead.
    So, priorities win?
Winning would feel more complete with a sweet new pair of shoes!

  6. I hope to someday design and build my own home using 100% natural materials. I’m sick of renting the lead-paint-and-asbestos mistakes of the past 🙂

  7. One of the things I have on my Life List and that I’ve wanted to do for ages it take a trip with just myself and my sister. I have always thought that we would make the perfect travel companions…

Last week we both booked aeroplane tickets to San Francisco for a week in November! I am excited to cross that one off, though I may have to put it back on again with a more specific qualifier so that we have a good excuse to do this more often!

It is also going to let me cross something else off – Attend a world premier of something. We’re timing our visit to S.F. to be there for the world premier of Rufus Wainwright’s compositions commissioned by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

  8. I just started dating a fantastic guy- who happens to be a tattoo artist. He is going to help me with #101 on my list “Get a really vulgar word tattooed on the inside of my lip”!

  9. I’m halfway to number 29 on my list: “Get a design plan drawn up for our garden and make it happen”. I now have a large format plan for our garden, commissioned from a local landscape designer. Chickens, veggies, fruit trees, native grasses, fragrant flowers… now I just have to make it happen!

  10. Talk to Devdutt Pattnaik: Sometimes, I forget I’m a journalist. So instead of hanging around cafes, waiting for Pattnaik to walk by, be enamoured by my aura and settle down for a chat, I just called him up for an interview. He can truly force your mind open with a crowbar.

  13. I’ve had a Life List since 1999 – I actually wrote a post about it earlier this year on my other site, WhenIHaveTime.com 🙂

I’m steadily cutting a path through mine – I love to see your progress, too! The Summit sounds like an awesome idea.

  14. I’d like to develop a serious yoga practice. By “serious,” I mean attending classes more than once a week and also being able to do poses in my basement without feeling completely foolish.

  15. So on Friday I attended my first spinning class. While a very small and achieveable item, this is something I’ve been putting off for fear of failing miserably and embarassing myself. In reality it was fine, so has spurred me on to tackle some of the other items I’ve been a bit daunted by.

  18. Travel to New Zealand for several weeks: it was going to be our honeymoon destination, but our cat is chronically ill so we decided to go away but not so far in case we needed to come home suddenly. Someday, though!
