Giveaway: Mighty Summit Gift Bag

When we were pulling together gifts for the Mighty Summit, we set a few aside to give away. There will be Summit giveaways on Mighty Girl all this week, but this first one is a doozy. Here’s what’s up for grabs today:

Tieks by Gavrieli

I bought a pair of these perfect ultimate travel shoes a while back, and they’re one of my new favorite things. Tieks fold in half so you can stuff them in your purse, but the quality is amazing. They come in all sorts of candy colors and metallics — plus they pack flat and slip off easily when you’re heading through airport security. The winner gets to choose any pair for $135 and under. I recommend orange.

Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer Strap

I can’t believe how long it took me to replace my ugly, logoed camera strap. Photojojo’s Tokyo Dreamer strap really dresses up your camera, and even has a little pocket for extra memory cards or a lens cloth.

Lola Epiphanie Camera Bag by Maile Wilson

Maile was an attendee at this year’s Summit, and she brought along her bright Epiphanie camera bags. I use mine as my everyday purse and have finally stopped busting expensive lenses and gadgets by wrapping them in hand towels and shoving them into an un-padded purse. Now I can have my SLR, my flip, and my phone(s) with me without anything banging together and cracking or getting scratched by my keys.

And that’s it for today. Pretty good, huh? To enter to win, please leave a comment about something on your Life List.

Now for the fine print: Please only leave one comment, because it’s the nice thing to do, and also because multiple entries will be disqualified. I’ll use random.org to select the winner, and I’ll announce who won at the top of this post and in a separate post next Tuesday.

  1. The magic of the life list for me is that it has forced me to overcome fears that may have otherwise held me back. An oppertunity arose to tackle a fairly significant. and very personal item on my list last year. Honestly it wouldve been easy to put it off, telling myself “now” was not the time, or doubt it was worth the stress. Those “little lies we tell ourselves” wouldve won. But then I thought – its on my list! I want this! Its worth working through the fear and insecurities! So I took the leap, and that one cross off now is the one for which I am most proud.

  2. I cannot believe the response you’ve had to this, amazing. I have two things I am currently crossing off my list; we are in the process of securing a mortgage for our first house!!! GAH!!! and I have gone back to school to upgrade in something I already love doing, drafting. This means being able to leave my soul crushing job on completion. Life is getting extremely exciting! Thanks for all the encouragement you don’t even know you have been giving me.

  3. I want to take my babies to Japan to meet my Mother in Law’s brothers and sisters. They are amazing people (I got to meet them in 2005), and I would love for my Mother-in-law to be able to show off her Hapa grandbabies. I need to make this happen!

  4. Wow, it’s great to read everyone’s comments!

I crossed off one item this very evening: sing karaoke by myself, in public. It was awesome. Another step toward a major life list item: feel confident and comfortable in my own skin.

  5. Rub shoulders with the mighty gals 🙂 (Ok, more than complimenting you on your momversations at Dooce’s signing in Mt View and blushing and trying not to be a goober while posing with Heather.) Shameless kiss ass right here.

Take a vacation without my three sons.

  6. I’ve recently begun my progress toward achieving my life list goal of finding a job that isn’t just a job, but a career (one that is enjoyable and rewarding) by leaving my adopted second home of the past three years, New Zealand, and returning home to the USA, where more plentiful opportunities exist. The best part is, my new kiwi husband is with me doing the exact same thing!

  7. To take my family on the road, living in an RV for a year traveling from state to state.

Bonus (recently added due to the amazing-ness of said event): Be chosen to attend the Mighty Summit.

  8. I want to have children. I have always wanted to be a mom, so having children is number 1 on my life list. Hopefully it’ll happen naturally (we’ve been trying for over a year) but it will happen however we need to make it happen.

    ps.. I love those shoes!

  9. To find the perfect part-time job that would allow me to be a present mom in my little boy’s life but also still feel like an accomplished adult. I want to continue to be “me” but also be there for him in his life. That is my #1 priority on my life list right now! 😉

  10. My younger sister has inspired me to run a marathon. I currently don’t run anywhere, but for some crazy reason I completely want to do this. It’s going to take a few years, but I’m starting to take some baby steps.

  11. One of the things on my list that I have been actively working on, is #9. Living Debt Free.

While it is going slowly, it isn’t one of those things you just do in a day and cross off. But that is how I am treating it. I am just going to make positive progress, every day. Then, I am never going to look back.

But, I can tell you now, I am going to relish the sound of that pencil sliding across the paper on that one.

  12. One of my life list goals was to get health insurance, and thanks to Obama’s health care initiative, I was able to do so last month! And for a reasonable price. I realize this is a rather boring goal, but it’s also a super important one.

  13. Great contest…very inspirational!

I have crosssed several off the list recently:

    – moved to Europe
    – learned a second language
    – spent two weeks on an organic farm with my family in the south of France (woolfing)

still on the list: learn to ride a horse, start a new green business and do yoga everyday.

  14. Life has brought me and kept me in Arizona for the past seven years, but I would like to live very near the ocean and walk regularly on the beach. My Turkish man might move me to Istanbul next year, so walks by the Bosphorus would also be excellent!
