Retroactive Friday Mixtape!

9th August 2010

I’ve always wished I knew more about music, and this is part of my Life List project to listen to 1,000 new songs. Right now I’m up to 422, and on Fridays I share some of my new favorites. If you’d like to share some music with me, please send your picks to maggie at mighty girl dot com, and I will listen to them.

Sorry for the delay, guys. New York kicked my bum.

I found a song last week and it’s been running through my head ever since…I followed a link to see Emma Watson’s new Pixie haircut (I think she copied Dooce!) and saw a note about her acting in a music video for the band One Night Only – the song is “Say You Don’t Want It”.

I’m absolutely totally in a girl crush for this singer…Lissie.

You have to see her cover of this Lady Gaga song (I don’t care for LG myself, but ADORE this version…SO talented). Make sure to search for Lissie’s other vids on YouTube…The song “Bully” is amazing.

I so adore this project, and thank you thank you thank you for sharing it this way.

While you are likely flooded with recommendations at this point, mine will be on their way to you shortly – once I weed down the possibles to a reasonable number, that is. :)
