What’s up, Kimbra?

I haven’t been able to get Kimbra’s “Settle Down” out of my head for days and days and days. (BOOM!Ba-boomBA!)

Kimbra is the woman featured on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Love,” which — according to the comments — is everyone’s new favorite song.

Also, I’m meh on the song, but this video for “Cameo Lover” is trippy-twee fantastic. Have a look.

  1. She’s got a whole batch of videos that are all filmed “Live at Sing Sing” and I pretty much prefer them all to the “Official” videos. But I do love the visual wackness in all of these.

  2. Oh my.

I would love to know what kind of things lurk in her mind, and what she’s thinking of while staring out into that middle distance.

(Also, I wish I could have her hair.)

those girls in the settle down video are adorable and also a little scary.

  4. If you love the Goyte version of Somebody That I Used to Know, you MUST see this cover of it:

  5. my friend introduced me to Kimbra and Goyte and couple of weeks ago. I’ve been meaning to download but then I went and had a baby and promptly forgot! Thanks for the reminder…off to iTunes before I forget again, ha.

  6. I absolutely second the “need to watch” Walk off the Earth’s cover. AMAZING. Also, total girl-crush on Kimbra, and just a normal crush on Wally DeBacker. I purchased 2 Gotye albums shortly after being introduced to STIYTK. I think he sounds like Sting-meets-Peter-Gabriel and I LOVE.

  8. She rocks doesn’t she. We like to claim ownership of her as an Aussie, but she is technically a kiwi. I have a bit of a girl crush. I remember recommending “someone” to you a while ago but it is Aldo a song that is hard to listen to post breakup. I am glad you are enjoying it now. Wally is very talented isn’t her. There are some other great songs.
    Thanks for sharing these.
