What’s that you say? You’re an Obama speech writer? Come here. The nation would like to kiss you on the mouth.

Have you seen Obama’s Director of Speechwriting, Jon Favreau (not the actor)?? He’s totally kissable.

As a Canadian, I feel like our obnoxious next door neighbours have finally moved out, and now a new family is moving in – and they really seem lovely!

MMMMMMMMWA:
“As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our Founding Fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience’s sake.”

You just perfectly captured my feelings about the day and the speech. I pretty much would like to kiss everyone involved on the mouth.

Here is what is really crazy- read Bush’s second inaugural address. A lot of what Obama says isn’t anything new.

Yah, but it was Bush saying it–and we all know what a damn liar he is.
And Obama seems to actually believe what he says. And since he’s already dismantling Gitmo, or at least putting a hold on the wallaby court sessions there, I’d say the whole rejection of the choice btn safety and ideals is already coming to pass. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/12/obama.gitmo/
So.

I read that he wrote most of it himself, which to me makes it more meaningful than any words that Bush ever memorized and parroted back. Plus, I am beginning to suspect that the man could read a recipe and stir me. Especially if the recipe involved chocolate. : )
