Beer Pong! By Hasbro!

Check it out, parents! It’s beer pong for the swingset set. You know somebody’s dad is picking this up and thinking, “Huh. It’s actually not a bad idea for him to get good at that when he’s young.”

(In other news, this trip to New York has been a lot more Toys R Us and Target intensive than previous forays.)

  • kate Says:

At our Safeway, they sell ping pong balls in the beer section now. It was only a matter of time…

  • Leah Says:

If you’re good at it, you drink less beer. That might actually be a smart parental move there. Of course, that means you will be getting someone else’s kid drunk . . .

I like to play beer bong with a designated drinker, since I’m not a beer fan ;-)

    That’s made of awesome.

OMG, thank you! I have almost taken a picture of this a hundred times when I’ve been in TRU. I’m always looking around thinking — Am I the only one? Does anyone else realize what this is?? LOL.

  • Missives From Suburbia Says:

I have seen these, and I had the saw jaw-dropping reaction to them.

I do prevention work with young people in my county, surrounding the issues of underage and binge drinking. Our age focus was 15-25 until last year, when we changed it to 12-25. We’ll have to keep lower the age, as long as we have these “it’s fun to drink!” messages aimed at humans at a younger and younger age.
Anybody who does prevention work with youth feels like Sisyphus about 90% of the time.

It’s everyone’s responsibility to make change, to be good role models, and to speak up against these dangerous messages.

Sorry to get so heavy, but I have seen the terrifying stats and the damage that has been done because of alcohol use.

I actually witnessed parents buying this for thier high school senior son for Christmas. They said it would be practice for the next year. It was sort of a sad parenting moment.

I thought the same thing when I saw these at WallyWorld…it made me sad/mad.

  • Shevon Says:

Kristi’s comment made me laugh out loud. Who are these people?

  • Raynae Says:

This is really sad. I had a friend who died b/c of Beer Pong, he had alcohol poisoning,,, and this is just too much

  • dgm Says:

A friend gave this to our 7 year old (!)(?) but he has no idea there is drinking involved in the real game. He likes trying to get the ping pong balls into the cup, which is not very easy, even sober.
