I moved to Oaxaca de Juarez 18 months ago after 10 years living on the Pacific Coast of Mexico… the amount of crazy awesome embroidered textiles here is at times overwhelming. I quickly became muy Oaxaqueña – you will rarely see me without a huipil on, paired with skinny jeans, paired with trousers, paired with leggings, over a flowing skirt, over a lace slip… all handmade huipiles all the time. It’s a beautiful life and certainly takes daily wanderings up a notch.
