Conversations with a Six Year Old, Relativity

Hank: The Eiffel Tower doesn’t look that big from far away.
Me: It doesn’t. I expected it to be bigger too.
Hank: It will probably be big when we get up close.
Me: Yeah it will. Larger than life.
Hank: No way. Life is really big.

  1. If you have time, it is well-worth it to rent a car and take Hank to southwestern France. The Dordogne region has cave paintings (stunning), real life castles that are really, really old, and a lovely river that can be canoed down….

  2. If you haven’t already, please look up Invader and Fred Le Chevalier for Hank to look for on the streets. We had our 5 year old son in Paris last spring and we spent hours and hours wandering the streets looking for theirs, and others, art work. It was so much fun for all of us, it’s like a treasure hunt in the streets of Paris.

  3. I just want all of you people who are either IN or have recently been IN Paris to know that I resent you. You are my new Gwyneth Paltrows. I am making voodoo dolls of you right now and am going to toast them like fresh croissants. Unless, if you are currently in France, you send me a jaunty beret.
