All right, everyone, it’s been more than 30 days. That means no more fun for us, ever again. Hank and I went out with a bang though.

We made cake for breakfast, to celebrate Hank’s favorite book In the Night Kitchen. And then my child — who has always had regular access to sugar because I use it to curry favor — took exactly one bite of cake.

I had put out some unsweetened applesauce to mitigate my dubious parenting skills, and he ate that instead? So that’s the last time I use the hippie cake mix.
Anyway, it turns out you guys are pretty fun yourselves, and lots of you started your own 30 Day projects. Here’s a peek into a few of them:

You Can’t Swim in a Town this Shallow
Thanks for playing along, friends. Have a project I missed? Please tell us in comments and we will direct our attention your way.

I did the project, too. Thanks for inspiring me! Sometimes on a normal day with work and everything, it was hard to find something fun but I think, these days especially need projects like this!
btw I think the cake looks delicious 🙂

I was also inspired by Matt Cutts’ talk on Ted, http://katespov.blogspot.com/2011/07/kicking-or-gaining-habit-in-30-days.html, and wanted to try changing a habit. I’ve tried things like this before and fell flat so I didn’t state what my goal was except verbally to me husband. The goal was o blog daily for 30 days. Yesterday was my 32nd straight day!
I’m not sure it’s a habit I intend to continue but it definitely helped me develop ways to blog more regularly and easily. Maybe going forward Monday thru Friday will do. 🙂

When I was a kid, I would have been overjoyed to bring one of my favorite books into real life! You certainly ended the project with a bang.
Thanks for sharing the projects of other bloggers. I starred this entry in my Google Reader and I’m gonna go through them when I have time this weekend. Hopefully I’ll find a new blog or two to follow!

Thanks so much Maggie! I’m just tickled pink to be included. Shamefully, I fell off the 30 day train…but I’ve re-started. Loved your inspiration to make the day to day more fun.

Sadly, my boys prefer applesauce over cake, as well. Thanks for inspiration. I started a little late, but I’m doing things I’d never dreamed of doing and they are FUN! My favorite so far is Save a Horse, Ride a Camel. Jumping on the bed is a close second.

I loved the idea and had my own 30 days of fun. The highlights? Having a sleepover with my nephews, going for a long bike ride in the rain, and learning to play a song on the guitar. Thank you for inspiring me to try all these new activities.

What I found interesting about this 30 day project is that you didn’t do anything radically different than what you normally do ( or so it seemed). I think the point, or at least what I took from it, was to really appreciate how many fun things you get to do. Even the simple things.

Well, we did a 30 Days No Take-Out project, not long ago.

I’m not sure “fun” is quite the correct word to describe it, though….
(Also? Cake for breakfast is awesome! Especially if I don’t have to bake it.)

I decided to try 30 days of fun leading up to my 36th birthday. Thank you for being such an inspiration. As I wrote in my 30 day project recap post, I realized that the simple things I find fun are STILL the things I find fun, even when I’m consciously focusing on it. I need to remember to value these things so I don’t take them for granted.

You totally inspired me to try this, and I had so much fun, I think I’m going to do a 30 Days of Fun each year in July. My birthday is at the end of the month, so it’s a great way to lead up to that. You can check out my posts here

In the Night Kitchen is my favorite book, too. As if Hank could endear me to him anymore than he already has. Milk in the batter milk in the batter.

Thank you for the link! My 30 days is still going strong; the sad part is that the blogging about my 30 days was stressing me out! How crazy is that? So I have all my pictures and all my notes and am setting aside some quiet time to get some posts up. I figured that made much better sense than wandering in around 11:30 or 12:30… or 2… (well you get the point) and freaking out because I needed to post about that day’s fun. This was fantastically inspiring and really forced me to think outside the box. And I have SEVEN days left! Thanks Maggie! 🙂

It’s not a new 30 day project per-se, but my goal is definitely to keep making fun lists that make people go “YES! That.”
