  1. moves indeed! a nd thin! you’ve always been thin- bit when I was having a shitty year I dropped 20 lbs — to my 8th grade weight — and people couldnt stop talking about how great i looked. I would be walking down the street in greenwich village weeping and friends would stop me to tell me how I was looking so good! weird

  4. Get DOWN, girl! You do, indeed, have MOVES. I plan to study this video until I can reliably recreate them. Keep on dancin’!

  5. Reminds me of those old youtubes of the “Dancing Girl” with the fur hats. I think she was from Scotland. Mary Something, I think. Anyway, it’s a compliment.

  7. This is funny!

It’s like being behind someone’s mirror when they are dancing in their bedroom by themselves.

You are very brave to post this. Although I don’t see your face, so maybe it’s not really you. (kidding)

  8. I love that you posted this. So great! Nothing like some solo dancing to shake away a bad mood and lousy day and make you feel good. Keep dancing, Maggie! 🙂

  9. @Amy(Just A Titch) — Didn’t you know? Mighty Girl translates to “Dance Party A-Go-Go” in 50 languages! 😉

  10. DANG. Me doing that would be more robot than hip and a laugh riot: you make it look awzom. And whether or not it’s true for you, I can attest to the Divorce Weight-Loss Program and how weird it was to have everyone say “Wow you look fantastic!” when you’re dying slowly on the inside.

  11. Okay Maggie, you obviously like to dance. I urge you to get thy booty to a Les Mills BODYJAM class pronto (it could be one of your fun things!)

It’s an hour long class full of cool moves to hot music (Les Mills classes are the only ones in the world that use music by the original artists instead of cheesy covers – they’ve even used that Missy song in the past)

It’s the most fun you can have exercising (also, it kicks Zumba’s ass…)

You can find gyms in San Francisco that have it here: http://www.lesmills.com/global/classes/find-a-class.aspx

And you can see a taster video here: http://www.lesmills.com/global/bodyjam/bodyjam-group-fitness-class.aspx. (Note: The music on the video is NOT indicative of what you get in class – music licensing prevents the actual class music being put online)

Seriously, you don’t need drugs when you do this class, it is mind altering in and of itself!

  12. This totally brightened my day. You have got seriously enviably moves! I’m definitely embarking on a 30 day project in a few days to lead up to my 36th birthday. Great suggestion!

  13. Inspired by the “Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon” mashup I watched this while listening to “Let Me Drown” by Soundgarden and it worked surprisingly well.

  17. I went to the Soul Train event in Chicago mentioned above on Saturday. I went by myself but when hundreds of people gasped in appreciation and joy when James Brown came on, I knew I wasn’t alone, and when I came back from a break and the dance floor was united in an epic electric slide, I knew I’d found my people.
