Announcing Camp Mighty!

Nine months ago, I told you I wanted to plan a big event where more people could go to work on Life List goals and projects. Thanks to some heavy lifting by Laura Mayes and the rest of the Mighty Events team, we’re doing it.

Announcing Camp Mighty, a co-ed conference for 150 creative types at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs this November. The concept is similar to the Mighty Summit, but with a few speakers, bigger parties, and more fun activities to help you cross a few things off your list. We’re also raising some funds for Charity Water as a team before the event begins.

Please go read up, and then sign up. I can’t wait to see you there.

  1. I’m so sad…I will be in my third trimester and not able to fly…

And learning to be comfortable in water is totally on my life list 😦

  2. I’m with Sarah–I’d have signed up already, but I’ll be eight and a half months pregnant.

Still, it looks brilliant! I can’t wait to read all about it!

  3. This looks AMAZING — congrats on putting together such a fantastic event. Friendraising and fundraising, it doesn’t get better than that!

I am really itching to check off some more Life List goals — “long weekend in Palm Springs” is #12! Must be FATE 😉

  5. It would be so great if you could find a way to subsidize a couple of spots. I love what you do and how you’re shaping this movement, and I also spend a lot of time thinking about (wishing for) ways to bring it to people with less privilege. I’m sure you do too, and I’d love to hear more about that.

  6. Oh Maggie, how wonderful! I hope it’s a raging success and another one comes along in 2012 as I can’t afford it this year, but maybe next? Congratulations on this already huge accomplishment!

  7. I am *DYING* to go and hoping to make it truly happen. Maggie, this is so wonderful and inspiring. Even if I can’t make this year happen, Mighty Camp is going on my Mighty Life list posthaste. Thank you for all you do.

  8. It sounds amazing! I’m so happy that you’ve planned it. Unfortunately I will be having a baby 2 weeks before, so I won’t be able to make it. I also work full time as a bookkeeper at a CPA firm. It doesn’t get any less creative than that, even though I like projects and would love to learn to tie knots and cross things off my life list. I hope it’s a huge success and it all goes off without a hitch.

  9. This seems both fun and cool, love that you’re into raising money for clean water, it’s so important. Unfortunately, I’m in the same place as little bird. Out of reach at the moment, I’m afraid. I’ve been unemployed for a long time (2 1/2 years). We still have a 12% unemployment rate in Cali and a 13% in LA.(And Palm Springs is close, but still out of reach.)

I wish you well with it, though. Seems fun!

  10. I really, really wish I could go… but my due date is November 7th, and I just don’t think I can make it. Dammit. I already had all the classes picked out, and my life list really needs to get reviewed extensively… ah well, will have to do it on my own 🙂

It sounds awesome, and I am inspired just by reading the agenda, thank you Maggie!

  11. Please say you’ll do this again next year! I just signed up for my first marathon that week- and given that this is a Mighty Events thing, it would probably be bad to cancel something from my Life List for it… 😉 Count me in if there’s a Round 2!

  12. Sounds crazy good – something is telling me to go! I’ve been doodling life list things on the backs of envelopes for the past week! So I just came back from a surf trip, where I realized that I ready to break up with computers and the digital life. Is this geared towards peeps that are in social media? Or is it for the general public? Either way, it is a great idea and you are inspiring.

  13. Aw, this will probably be sold out before I know if I can afford it. :/ Unemployed right now.

You *must* get this guy to attend. His site is the Art of Manliness, but it’s just good education for anyone and he focuses a lot on skills: http://artofmanliness.com/

  15. Sounds wonderful. Accom and activities sound great and costs are reasonable in my opinon. Its the trip from Australia that will make it a bit difficult for me to justify. Would love to think about the next one!

  16. Sounds so perfect, but can’t attend due to being skint and unemployed. Love, love, love the logo!!! Are you selling anything with it and/or where can I find it? I so want a print or a pillow or SOMETHING…it’s fabulous. Have fun!
