On days like that I make it a point to have my favorite blue jar filled with freshly picked daisies on the kitchen counter. Sometimes it's the little things that can save the day!

I had this same kind of day on Sunday. I was in charge of dessert for Father's Day dinner so I searched through recipes for a couple hours trying to find something new & delicious. Had to go to the store for specific ingredients to make a cake. Came home and put everything together. Got the cake in the oven and realized after a few minutes that I'd left out the eggs and vanilla. Decided to wait & see how it turned out, figuring that if it tasted ok I could figure out some way to make it look presentable. While the cake was still in the oven, I started cooking the ingredients on the stove for the frosting and then just poured it over the cake...without mixing in the 4 cups of powdered sugar that I'd already measured out. The recipe kept calling the frosting "glaze" and I got distracted in there somewhere and for some reason my brain alarm didn't go off before I started pouring. So, since dessert was ruined, I stopped at the store on my way to dinner and almost backed into another car in the parking lot. *sigh*

Reminds me of a day recently when I rode my bike to Beacon's Closet. I was shopping, when a hipster shopkeeper said in an awkward loud voice (cause they normally don't have announcements at Beacon's)...."One of our shoppers just went to get her bike..and she said someone else's bike is bike locked to her bike." My face went red. I knew it had to be me. I raised my hand. And walked to the front in shame. It was me, indeed.

I too my friend to see the Lumineers live last night and spent my evening dancing, clapping and smiling. Best live show I've seen in the last couple years!

Today my bike was stollen, the pool was crowded, and when I got home I couldn't find the wine bottle opener. That last part is the worst part. Go team.
