Atomic Tom, Play That Dirty Girl Lion of Ido, New York City Neon Trees, Your Surrender The Limousines, Internet Killed the Video Star Bushwalla, I'll Funk Your Brains Out Simple Math, Manchester Orchestra Barton Hollow, The Civil Wars Ryan Star, anything he's ever done, ever Not able to see them live, but: The Spring Standards, Chicago 2011 has been pretty cool, but I'm sure 2012 will top it. "Oh Bondage Up Yours" by the X-Ray Spex? Heck. That's awesome. On the flip, I always find Bon Iver's "Holocene" to be so affirming. When he sings "I was not magnificent" -- that's comforting to me, to think that in the grand scheme of things, I am such a small part of it all. And the universe is so large and grand and I exist within it. And -- I am so not explaining myself well! Grack! Anyway, "Holocene" makes me feel victorious in a small, peaceful way. I don't know.
