I have two of my great grandmother’s cigarette cases. Both are engraved by my great-grandfather. One was a gift for their 25th anniversary and is so precious (and emerald-laden) that it sits on my dresser next to my jewelery box looking fabulous. The other is multi-layered metals and with just the right fancy plans, I take it out in my clutch to hold my ID and cash.

At times my best mate Marie accuses me of overaccessorizing and from trawling through the years of your favourite accessories, I can see why I repeatedly fall in that trap – I want to wear all of the above at once! Do you reckon a pom pom hat would go with gloves, several brooches and a pair of fake eyelashes? Hmmm….maybe I could make it work….

I found a fabulous old cigarette case and use it to hold my business cards. I dread the whole networking thing a little less.

I love your ideas on how to update your wardrobe with accessories! I cannot agree with you more.

I do it too…but I cannot figure out how to put on those false eyelashes properly. So I skip this part and go right to adding luxury handbags to give my wardrobe the instant makeover it desperately needs.

It adds a pop of color, bling, and a hint of personal style without putting the integrity of the clothes you are wearing in jeopardy.

For instance, if you are wearing a vintage Chanel suit, then you do not want to change anything on the suit itself. It would not be right to the house of Chanel. Instead, add luxury handbags to give the outfit the pop it was otherwise missing.
