i went to my first dance at 12. with jason. who was shorter than the average boy. and i happened to be taller than the tallest boy. i felt self conscious about the height difference so came up with a plan to fix it.

i lifted him up. i grabbed him around the waist and lifted. so his feet were swinging about 8 inches above the ground. in hindsight, maybe that wasn’t the best solution.

I tried to answer on Plinky but it wouldn’t take my location. It was on the back stairs of an upholstery shop in Kaiserslautern Germany. It was a summer hire job between my sophomore and junior years in high school. I was 15 (such a late bloomer).

You tell it like it’s in a romance novel. Precious. My first kiss was at summer camp. I was 11, he was 12. When he kissed me, I hyperventilated and had to be taken to the nurse. Yup. I’ll never forget that one.

I’m so impressed that you can remember your first kiss (that’s not a reflection on you, that’s a reflection on my own poor memory). I think I practiced on a pillow and talked to my sister-in-law and then drank a lot before that date. I’m going to claim your memory as my own.

I remember my first kiss, was in 8th grade. It was on the steps outside school, after an after school club meeting. After the kiss she looked at me, smiled and said, “let’s try that again.”
