She *could* be referring to how your boss or professor might be on Facebook but is the protocol with them the same as with a classmate, friend, colleague? It’s tricky.

i think she meant that everyone is assumed to express themselves in the same way- via those app things and what not. maybe not. i personally find facebook really frustrating though.

i have such a love/hate relationship with these things… i’m “friends” with people who i don’t talk to in real life and i have enough self-esteem issues that i get annoyed when they are updating about trips they took together and didn’t invite me… it’s awful… but at the same time – kind of fun if i can get over my own issues…

that comment, however… is really strange…
