So I used to live in this high-rise apt building, which there are all of two in Oklahoma, right?...
We would get smashed and race the elevators up and down until they stalled...then we'd go tip some cows. Great fun!

I used to work in a building in Melbourne (Aust) that was the first building in the city to have a lift. And I used to ride that lift to work every day . . . some many many years later.

Jen's in the know. You can always judge an establishment by their bathroom. It might be five star out the front, but the number of no star bathrooms is astounding.

I'm not sure if this is going to help or hurt these two, but one of them in collecting examples of spectacularly bad design, so the other was directing him to the worst elevators in NYC.

I'm not ashamed to say that I've visited many places simply because I heard they had nice bathrooms. I know it sounds weird, but I just love bathrooms--especially if they have some kind of cool sink with water flowing over a statue or something. It's bizarre.

Add that to the list of the saddest hobbies on earth:

1. train watchers
2. plane watchers
3. elevator riders

three very predictable events, unless people these days are catching rogue elevators that abscond with them to the Jersey shore...
